Being a single mom is tough. You constantly have to try to find creative ways of making money, but you don’t wanna leave your kids with a babysitter all day long to make that money.
Not that there’s anything wrong with babysitters, of course, they’re awesome, but it’s just that you want to be HOME with your kids.
But in this market, and any market, it’s difficult to do, for the single mom and the married mom alike.
As you already know, I used to support myself and my kids by selling Littlest Pet Shops on eBay before becoming a blogger. In fact, I’ve been selling on eBay now for over 28 years! Back before they were even CALLED eBay. 💯
What you DON’T know is that, I’ve sold many different things to make money over the years and one of those things is True Religion jeans!
Today, I’m opening up about this goldmine on eBay selling True Religion jeans!
True Religion Jeans
The most expensive jeans by far is the Chrissy Paisley design.
This design is quite rare and there are a couple jeans of this pattern on eBay going for what I’d consider chump change right now. They just simply don’t know what they have! It might be a good idea to buy them and hold onto them and relist them at a higher price later on when the lower-priced jeans of that pattern are sold. 😊
The last pair of this print went for more than $2,000 including shipping!
Other True Religion items that do well is jean jackets. Here’s a couple that sold recently…
The Chief Keef is a rare jacket, of course.
And here’s a set that includes jeans and a jacket…
Blue Hem Patch design jeans go for a lot of money too as they are more rare.
Anything that is more rare in that line of jeans brand does very well on eBay.
As you can see, there’s a good amount of money to be made selling True Religion jeans and True Religion jean jackets.
So you may be asking, “How exactly do you ACQUIRE True Religion jeans to sell and make money off of?”
I’ll tell you!
I am a big fan of yard selling.
Go to yard sales that advertise women’s and men’s clothing. Another fantastic place to find them is church rummage sales. You can find them super cheap there!
Now that you know what you’re looking for, when you run across these jeans, you can buy them and resell them on eBay.
It is very common to find True Religion jeans for $1 each pair, not kidding. That’s the price I used to pay all the time! Sometimes now, I’ll see them for $5 a pair and I snatch them up, knowing I can flip them very quickly and easily on eBay.
Even if you pay $10 a pair, or ask them to go a little lower to say $8 if they’re asking $10, it’s still a great profit.
I’ve never sold a pair of True Religion jeans for less than $60!
So, if you pay $5, let’s say, that’s quite a bit of a profit for one pair.
And here’s the thing…
You can fold these nicely and fit them in a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope!!!!
Yep! They fit! So that takes your shipping costs way down, plus it gets to the customer faster. I have asked a postal worker if we are able to put that thickness of the jeans in a flat rate envelope and they said YES! As long as the envelope shuts and is not all poking out and everything (and they fit nicely), it’s okay!
So all around you can save yourself some money in shipping AND make the most profits by selling them on eBay!
Remember, the more UNIQUE things are, the better it will sell. So patterns and prints in True Religion or things that are more rare, will get you a better price when selling.
Another thing is to set yourself apart from the pack. Never picture any items on a bed. People see a bed and think: dirty. Picture them on a white background to look more professional. White floor, white counter, white poster board, anything like that.
Also, try to include a free gift in your listing to catch attention.
In your headline, you can say something like, “True Religion Jimmy Marled Rope Stitch Jean Demim Jacket Size L Dark Wash + FREE BONUS”
Adding in a free bonus of some sort can catch attention and set you apart.
As for the free bonus, here’s a list of things you could give free as your freebie bonus...
- Iron-on patch
- Belt of similar sizing (this may not fit in the flat rate envelope though)
- Travel-size fabric freshener spray
- Mini sewing kit
- Denim keychain
- Plain or graphic t-shirt
- Scarf
- Denim thank you card
- Bandana
- Matching socks
- Jewelry (bracelet, necklace, or anklet)
- Denim stickers
- Enamel pin
- Denim key fob
- Anything denim related
Think about anything you could get super cheap or free to give that the person opening their package would like.
More questions you might have…
What site is best for selling True Religion Jeans (eBay, Amazon, others?)
eBay. Definitely eBay! 😊
How do you set the prices of the True Religion jeans and jackets? Many of them have a variety of prices so just pick something in the middle?
Depends if you’re making a business out of it, how fast you want to sell, and what your feedback rate is at.
If your feedback rate is 100% positive feedback and you have at least 100 feedbacks, you can sell about $1-$5 higher than the most expensive other seller or the same price as another 100% positive feedback seller.
If you want to make a business out of it, you’ll want to start cheap to establish yourself and work your way up.
If you want to sell it faster, list lower. If you don’t mind waiting for a sale, list higher.
If Christmas-time is nearby (a few months away), list higher as the traffic will FLOOD IN around Christmas!
Is selling True Religion jeans a stable source of income?
If you profit about $40 on each pair, how much do you need to make each month to make it sustainable?
If you need to make an additional $300/month to cover bills, for example, you’ll want to sell 8 pairs of jeans. Finding that many pairs of jeans in one month, may be a task. So you will want to supplement with reselling other things too, not JUST True Religion jeans.
Maybe that means finding other things that sell well or even other branded jeans that do well.
Either way, now that you know these jeans go for money, as you come across them, snatch them up and resell to make some income!
As for these jeans to hold their value, I’ve been selling them for around 17 years now and they have been selling good for $60/pair this whole time. It’s a good bet that they’ll continue for years to come.
Are True Religion jeans still considered cool and fashionable?
Absolutely! Many trendy people (both men AND women) are wearing them.
What’s all the fuss? Why do people like True Religion jeans?
Many women like them because it makes their back end look great. 😊
