Dutch holding company, Compare Group, has entered Denmark and Norway. The owner of several price comparison services has now launched its platform in these two new markets. It is the second time the company expands in one year.
The Compare Group is a Dutch company that owns several price comparison platforms. In 1999, Vergelijk.nl (the company’s Dutch platform) was launched. Since then, it has expanded into Finland, Belgium, Germany and Sweden.
‘Big step in our European journey’
Now, the company is making more steps. “Last Monday, we took another big step in our European journey: we launched our price comparison platforms in Denmark and Norway! Earlier this year, we also went live in France, our international expansion is gaining speed”, announced CEO Joris Verwater on LinkedIn.

According to the announcement, the company has also been working on its software. The company now offers its service on a new technical infrastructure and platform. It also has a new design, which is now being tested in Denmark and Norway first. Additionally, product categories are now powered and updated by AI.
Competition in the market
Many price comparison sites are competing with Google. Earlier this year, it was announced Google’s parent company Alphabet was being sued by Moltiply Group, which operates Italian popular price comparison Trovaprezzi. According to the company, Google favors its own Google Shopping over other comparison websites in search results.
At the time, Ecommerce News spoke to Vergelijk.nl. According to the comparison website, it has now already been waiting for six years for a compensation from Google.
