Mince Pie Eton Mess – An easy “no-cook” delectable dessert using leftover mince pies with cream and ready-made meringue shells
Mince Pie Eton Mess with Chocolate Salted Caramel Meringues
A fabulous and very easy dessert to make before, during and after Christmas – Mince Pie Eton Mess is simply made with mince pies, cream and ready-made meringues.
I made this recipe for Mince Pie Eton Mess just before Christmas, using my Easy Stem Ginger & Rum Mincemeat, and I had requests to make it during the Chistmas holidays.
You can use homemade mince pies, as I have done, or ready made ones from the supermarket or your local bakery.
I always have ready-made meringues in the store cupboard, as they have a long shelf life, and you can make a delectable dessert that’s on the table in minutes with them.
I used Salted Caramel Meringue Shells With Dark Chocolate last time, from Tesco, and they were an absolute treat with the pies and clotted cream.
You can use any cream, but last time I made this Mince Pie Eton Mess recipe, I used some clotted cream with brandy, for a festive flourish.
Thick cream or clotted cream is best, and you can garnish these decadent desserts with chopped stem ginger, chocolate flakes, or an extra spoon of mincemeat for the win.
I hope you are inspired to make this easy and delicious dessert – it works perfectly with any leftovers that are lingering, and you can make just one portion or more as needed.
