New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency on Friday for all 5 boroughs of New York Metropolis, together with Lengthy Island, and the Mid-Hudson area of the state.
Flash flood warnings are to ensure that the entire affected areas via Friday, and New Yorkers are being inspired to keep away from strolling or driving via these areas.
As of three p.m., over six inches of rain was recorded in Brooklyn, the borough that early studies present could have been the toughest hit by the storm.
“This can be a harmful climate situation and it isn’t over,” Mayor Eric Adams stated early Friday morning throughout a press briefing. “I do not need these gaps in heavy rain to offer the looks that it’s over, it isn’t.”
